Hi! My name is Caelum Beckinsale, and I'm a 3D Artist focused in Unreal Engine with 5 years of experience in lighting and pipeline development.
EXPERIENCE
PIXEL ZOO - UNREAL (July 2024 - Ongoing)
Lighting, set dressing and pipeline development for Armorsaurs, a new series streaming on Disney+ in 2026.
Photorealistic VFX production with live action plates interacting with CG dinosaurs and environments. Developed custom tools for building and rendering shots to accommodate our desired compositing workflow. Shots are rendered with multiple passes (beauty, key, environment, volume, etc.) to provide additional control for comp team. Unreal 5.3 does not natively support these passes, hence a custom solution was made with my tools.

MODELFARM - UNREAL (August 2023 - March 2024)
Lighting and pipeline work for Piece by Piece, the LEGO movie about Pharrell Williams, and Eddie's Lil Homies, the animated series. Developed Python and UE Blueprint tools for alembic imports, sequencer setups, render queues and Shotgrid uploads.

FIKA ENTERTAINMENT - UNREAL (August 2022 - August 2023)
As an Unreal Pipeline Developer, I worked on various import/export tools for FBX skeletal animation through blueprint editor utility widgets and Python, along with other smaller projects. I also created VFX for Teletubbies Let's Go, such as the sparkles and the Jurassic Park-inspired custard ripple.

PIXEL ZOO - UNREAL ENGINE (May 2021 - August 2022)
Lighting, rendering and technical art in Unreal Engine 4 and 5 for projects such as Baby Alive and LEGO Duplo. In-between delivering episodes, I learnt how to program via Unreal's blueprint editor utility widgets to create various tools to speed up our workflow, such as importing all of our alembic animation from Maya.

Part of a series of modelling and rendering projects based on my favourite game of all time, complete with six fully rigged badniks!
Two robots remade in 3D, based off Mega Man 7 on the SNES. Made in Maya, Zbrush and Substance Painter.

VIDEO PROJECTS
I have created a series of analytical videos on various games and films that I find personally interesting. My focus is placed on clearly and sincerely conveying my in-depth opinions through script, voice-over and video editing, with a dry, no-nonsense approach that gets straight to the point.









I'm a Brisbane-based 3D artist who graduated from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2019 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation.
I'm very passionate about video games, film, dinosaurs and jazz. Before going into animation, I had considered paleontology or game design. It's a lucky coincidence that I've become so experienced with the Unreal Engine along my professional career, and I hope to work on games directly someday.
My favourite game of all time is Outer Wilds, and I will happily tell you why you need to play it.
